A Texas based oil and gas gate valve manufacturer builds a variety of valves that vary in size, pressure, flow, and numerous other details. Each custom run through their shop required configuration input from sales, engineering design time, submittal of preliminary drawings and calculations to a customer. Once approved by a customer, the design would then return to engineering for detailed shop drawings.
ISE developed a custom standalone software user interface that received customer input and fully calculated the valve configuration including all flow and stress calculations. This program outputs a full set of valve calculations that are directly presented to the customer for approval. Often this activity now takes place at the customers location during a sales configuration visit. During this visit a simplified set of valve drawings are configured within AutoCAD and printed as part of the customer approval package. Once approved, the entire valve design is configured in detail within Pro/ENGINEER (Creo). The full set of configured shop, assembly, and detail drawings are created and submitted electronically to the shop and buyers for fabrication.
